She/They

Vanessa is a dedicated psychologist with a profound commitment to the well-being of her clients. Her extensive clinical expertise spans a range of areas, including 2SLGBTQIA+ mental health, PTSD and complex trauma, eating disorders, addictions, and concurrent disorders. Vanessa approaches each client with a unique blend of empathy, understanding, and evidence-based interventions.

Beyond traditional therapeutic modalities, Vanessa has expanded her toolkit to include trauma-sensitive yoga and equine-facilitated wellness. These innovative approaches allow her clients to explore healing in non-traditional and holistic ways, fostering a mind-body connection that is integral to the therapeutic process.

When Vanessa isn't immersed in the world of psychology, she finds solace in the great outdoors, exploring nature trails with her faithful beagle companion, Jolene, or spending time with her Appaloosa horse, River. Vanessa's passion for the healing power of animals extends beyond her professional life, creating a harmonious balance that enriches both her personal and professional pursuits.

At Northland Psychology, Vanessa LaPrairie has created a sanctuary for those seeking transformative change.
